Asuretuli Shala

Kvemo Kartli, Tetritskaro district: the lands of Asureti village on the left bank of the Algeti, with vineyards at 400–750 m. The main variety is Asuretuli Shavi, an endemic found here by German settlers; up to 15 per cent of Tavkveri and Shavkapito is allowed. The wine is red dry; winemaking is permitted only inside the zone, bottling anywhere in Georgia.

Asuretuli Shala is a dry red PDO from the Asureti area of the Tetritskaro municipality in Kvemo (Lower) Kartli, made from the local Asuretuli Shavi grape. It is a small, comparatively new Kartli appellation with no notable authenticity concern; the wine should come from the registered zone.
