Otskhanuri Sapere
Otskhanuri Sapere is a red variety from Imereti, named after the village of Otskhana; 'sapere', like Saperavi, refers to colour, but the two are genetically different varieties. It ripens late and gives deeply coloured wines with high acidity and firm tannins that need time and develop over many years in bottle. It is also used to add colour to other wines.
