Kisi

Kisi is a white variety from Kakheti, grown mainly in the Akhmeta and Telavi districts. Neglected in the Soviet decades in favour of Rkatsiteli, it had almost disappeared by 2000 and has since been replanted from surviving old vines. It is made in the European style and as amber wine in qvevri, which is noticeably darker and fuller, and also as naturally semi-sweet, fortified and dessert wine.
