Inner Kakheti, the north-eastern slope of the Gombori range: the lands of Zegaani village — bounded by the Chermiskhevi gorge from the north, by the Navistskali gorge and the lands of Akhasheni from the south, and by the range itself from the west; plots in the Papriskhevi valley belong to the zone as well. Altitudes are 400–550 m. Saperavi is the only variety and the wine is red dry. The zone is tiny — about two square kilometres.

Authenticity
No known authenticity issues
Zegaani is a dry red PDO from the Gurjaani municipality of Kakheti, made from Saperavi (often in qvevri). It is a newer, smaller-volume appellation with no notable authenticity concern; the wine should be Saperavi from the registered Zegaani zone.
