Tsinandali

The right bank of the Alazani in the Telavi district: the wooded slopes of Tsiv-Gombori on one side and the Alazani plain on the other, with vineyards at 350–700 m. The zone covers fifteen villages. The white dry is made from Rkatsiteli, with up to 15 per cent of Mtsvane Kakhuri allowed; the red dry is from Saperavi.

Authenticity

No known authenticity issues

Tsinandali is a dry white PDO from Kakheti, made from a Rkatsiteli-Mtsvane blend (Rkatsiteli at least about 85%) on the right bank of the Alazani. It is a large, well-established dry appellation whose supply broadly matches the zone, with no notable authenticity concern; the wine should come from the registered Tsinandali zone.
