The upper Alazani, left bank: the mouths of the Stori and Didkhevi-Lopota gorges coming down from the southern side of the Caucasus. Vineyards lie at 450–750 m. The zone covers Napareuli, Saniore, Jughaani, Artana, Pshaveli and Laliskuri. The varieties are Rkatsiteli, Mtsvane Kakhuri and Saperavi.

Authenticity

No known authenticity issues

Napareuli is a dry PDO from northern Kakheti on the left bank of the Alazani, producing Rkatsiteli whites and Saperavi reds. Supply broadly matches the zone and it carries no notable authenticity concern; the wine should come from the registered Napareuli zone.
