The middle Alazani, right bank: foothills below the wooded slopes of Tsiv-Gombori running down into the Alazani lowland, with vineyards at 350–700 m. The zone is wide — eighteen villages, including Bakurtsikhe, Kolagi, Vejini and Gurjaani itself. Rkatsiteli is the main variety, with up to 15 per cent of Mtsvane Kakhuri allowed; the wine is white dry.

Gurjaani is a dry white PDO from central Kakheti, based on a Rkatsiteli-Mtsvane blend. It is a long-standing dry appellation whose supply broadly matches the zone, with no notable authenticity concern; the wine should come from the registered Gurjaani zone.
