Kakheti, Gurjaani district: a plot inside the Kardenakhi zone on the right bank of the Alazani — between the railway and the highway, by the administrative border of Bakurtsikhe. It covers 345 hectares at 350–750 m. Saperavi is the only variety. The wine must reach at least twelve per cent alcohol, and the yield is capped at ten tonnes per hectare.

Authenticity

No known authenticity issues

Akhoebi is a dry red PDO from Kakheti, made from Saperavi. It is one of the newer, small-volume Kakhetian appellations with no notable authenticity concern; the wine should be Saperavi from the registered Akhoebi zone.
